A snow blizzard, a palace of toys, and other surprises take Dorothy to A Christmas Wizard of Oz Dec. 6-21 in Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania.


Santa will be visiting All Things Oz in Chittenango, NY, Dec. 7.


The Lapeer Community Theatre in Lapeer, Mich., presents The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus Dec. 6-7. This story by the author of the Wizard of Oz offers holiday fun for the whole family.

The Classics Lost and Found Theater Company of Minneapolis, Minn., presents Baum's The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus Dec. 6-7.



Unexpected Oz:

Kansas City's Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium fires up The Laser of Oz through Jan. 5.


The Imaginarium of Oz in Shanghai uses modern technology to immerse visitors in Oz. The exhibitions runs till January 5.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the graduating students of the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts will present The Wiz Dec. 5-7 at the Cremorne Theatre in Queensland, Australia.

Nov. 27-Dec. 29, in Philadelphia, Pa., the Quintessence’s production of The Wizard of Oz “will explore L. Frank Baum's fantasia as political allegory and transform the Sedgwick Theater into an Oz you’ll never forget.”

British panto takes on the Wizard of Oz Dec. 13-31 at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts in Brighton.


Also in Dublin, The Wizard of Oz Panto at the Red Cow Inn is set for Dec. 17.

The Theatre Le Grenier in Bougival, France, will present The Wizard of Oz and The Wiz this spring. A preview concert takes the stage Dec. 11.

Dec. 4, Ballet Theatre UK presents The Wizard of Oz live on stage in Hampshire. This touring, full-length, ballet adaptation is “presented with beautiful backdrops, stunning theatrical sets and costumes evoking the iconic sketches by W.W. Denslow.”:

Oz on Stage:

Near Duluth? Follow the yellow brick road Dec. 5-22 at the Duluth Playhouse. The Dec. 15th performance has a pre-show brunch option.

Dec. 7-26 The Sofia in Sacramento, Cal., stages The Wizard of Oz adapted by Lyndsay Burch.

The Racine Guild Theatre in Racine, Wisc., offers The Wizard of Oz for the holidays, Dec. 13-22.

Dec. 18-29 in Vienna, Austria, the Volksoper Vienna presents the Royal Shakespeare Company's adaptation of MGM's Wizard of Oz.


MGM 80th anniversary screenings:

The San Antonio Symphony accompanies the MGM film live Dec. 13-14 as an 80th anniversary holiday celebration.


Dec. 18 in Dublin, Ireland, A screening of The MGM Wizard of Oz includes live music performed by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.
